On Friday night, there's Serie A action at Stadio Via del Mare, where Lecce and AC Milan will lock horns in a game between two teams with rather contrasting seasonal objectives. The Milan boys will very much be hoping to improve drastically on their 2024/25 finishing position of eighth, but their bid to improve didn't exactly get off to a flyer last weekend, with Massimiliano Allegri's men losing at home to newly promoted Cremonese. 

While the men from Milan were losing at home, the hosts managed to stave off the attacks of Genoa last week, tying 0-0. Ahead of Serie A's opening weekend, I wrote that it looked as though Lecce would keep hold of forward Nikola Krstovic, which would be massive for their bid to stay in the top flight. They've sinced parted ways with the Montenegrin scorer, who has joined Atalanta, and that's a huge blow. Can they replace what Krstovic brought? Possibly not. It could be a very hard season for Friday's visitors.

Our Lecce vs AC Milan Prediction

At the end of the day, it was just one of those games for Allegri's men last weekend. They created loads, scored a decent goal, but thanks to a mixture of poor finishing and bad luck, they came unstuck. There's not really any reason for the men in black and red to panic.

Let's face it, the way in which they created chance after chance against Cremonese suggests that they can thrive offensively against a team of Lecce's quality. After all, they scored six goals in two games against Lecce last season. Don't be too surprised if the hosts get involved offensively here, though.

The visitors, for all they created last week, didn't look strong defensively, while they looked weak on the break, which should fill the hosts with confidence, even if Nikola Krstovic has left.
