For the second time in a week, Atalanta and Dortmund will clash. Having battled it out in Germany last week, the pair will now meet in Bergamo, Italy, where the hosts have something of a hill to climb. By losing without scoring last week, conceding twice in the process, the Italians know that they’ve got a tough task here. They need to win by a two-goal margin to force extra time, or win by three goals to advance in regulation time.
Of course, stranger things have happened in the UEFA Champions League, and it certainly wouldn’t be the greatest shock if Raffaele Palladino’s men pulled it off, but let’s face it, having seen how poor they were defensively a week ago, it would be a shock if the Germans failed to make offensive headway at New Balance Arena, and if that happens, it could (and likely will) be game over for the hosts.
