The Portland Trail Blazers (9-15) visit the New Orleans Pelicans (3-22) in an NBA 2025-26 game on Thursday, December 11, at the Smoothie King Center.
The Pelicans look to stop their freefall after recently blowing a 20-point halftime lead in a 135-132 defeat to the San Antonio Spurs. They tried to salvage that game only to see Spurs rookie Dylan Harper hit a go-ahead floater with nine seconds left.
Their own prized rookie, Derik Queen, tallied a triple-double of 33 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. But it wasn't enough, as they gave up 75 points to the Spurs in the second half.
As for the Blazers, they're also coming off a 119-96 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. They struggled to get going on offense, shooting a lowly 39.8% clip from the field.
The loss to the Grizzlies was the Blazers' fifth defeat in the last six games. They've now dropped to the 10th spot in the stacked Western Conference.
Injuries will once again play a massive role in this matchup. The Pelicans are without Zion Williamson and Dejounte Murray, while Jordan Poole is listed as questionable.
On the Portland side, Damian Lillard is out for the season, Scoot Henderson has yet to debut, and Jrue Holiday, Donovan Clingan, and Matisse Thybulle are all sidelined.
