The Boston Bruins will attempt to pile on more misery on the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday at TD Garden. The Flyers have looked horrible so far this season, and they could face another long day at the office in Boston.
All teams have played at least three games this season, and three teams remain winless. Philadelphia is the only Eastern Conference team that has lost every game so far. Rick Tocchet’s side has taken a sudden step backward after ending a five-year postseason drought and reaching the second round of the playoffs last year.
The Flyers can’t score and have been playing some horrendous defense. While the recent signing of Michael Bunting could help them up front, it might take some time until Tocchet sorts out the defense.
Boston is off to a decent start, posting a 3-2-0 record across five games. After a couple of rough outings against Minnesota and Ottawa, they bounced back with an impressive 6-1 victory over the in-form Utah Mammoth on Thursday night.
The Bruins will be full of confidence heading into the weekend and won’t want the embarrassment of being the first team to suffer a defeat against this struggling Flyers team.
