One of the games on the Week 6 College Football Saturday slate will feature an SEC matchup between the #1-ranked Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners. Let’s take a look at the match statistics and predictions for this game between the Longhorns and the Sooners.

Texas enters this game with a record of 4-0 and 1-0 in the SEC. The Longhorns are coming off a bye in Week 5, having most recently beaten the Tennessee Volunteers by a score of 20-17 in Week 4. Texas’ offense was not particularly impressive in this game, as they had just 262 yards. However, their defense allowed 221 yards and had 10 sacks. 

Despite their offense being underwhelming against Tennessee, Texas’ defense looks to be strong enough to expect them to comfortably beat an Oklahoma team that has been far more inconsistent. 

As for Oklahoma, they enter this game with a record of 2-2 and 0-1 in the SEC. The Sooners also had their bye in Week 5, having most recently lost to Georgia in Week 4 by a score of 41-13. The Sooners’ offense was abysmal in this game; more specifically, quarterback John Mateer was constantly making mistakes. This alone suggests his struggles will continue against an elite Texas defense.
