The Minnesota Lynx (1-0) visit the Los Angeles Sparks (1-0) on May 18, Sunday, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Both the Lynx and the Sparks took care of their opening assignments with a bang. Minnesota carved a 99-84 victory over the Dallas Wings, with Napheesa Collier's 34 points leading the way. Courtney Williams also poured in 25 points and 9 assists, while Jessica Shephard contributed 15 points and 8 boards.
Los Angeles also welcomed the Kelsey Plum era with an 84-67 win over the young Golden State Valkyries. Plum showed out with 37 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals, while Dearica Hamby hauled in a double-double performance of 14 markers and 10 boards.
However, the Sparks lost Rae Burrell due to a right leg injury in that game. That adds another name to the team's injury woes. Cameron Brink (knee) is out until June, while Julie Allemand (knee) will miss Sunday's game against the Lynx.
As for the Lynx, they're still missing the services of Kayla McBride, who is out due to personal reasons. McBride is coming off a productive year, having averaged 15.0 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals on her way to an All-Star selection.
