The Minnesota Lynx (6-0) visit the Golden State Valkyries (2-3) on June 1, Sunday, at the Chase Center in San Francisco.
The Lynx and the Valkyries face off in their first Commissioner's Cup game this season. The Lynx have been undefeated so far. They carved out a 74-71 victory over the Phoenix Mercury, even without their star player Napheesa Collier.
Collier, who is averaging 26.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists this season, is currently nursing a knee injury. She's listed as questionable in the Lynx's injury report, although Kayla McBride's return has been a welcome sight. In two games so far, McBride is producing 17.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals.
The Valkyries are no easy opponents, though. Despite being a newcomer, they've won big games against the Washington Mystics and Los Angeles Sparks. They also pushed the defending champions New York Liberty to a close fight before losing, 82-77.
Four players are averaging double digits for the Valkyries, led by Janelle Salaun's 13.8 markers. Still, they have the worst offensive rating in the league, which won't bode well against the Lynx's strong defense.
Aside from Collier's questionable status, no other player is listed on the injury report of both teams.
