Cristian Perez Gonzalez will make his UFC debut Saturday night. He faces a fighter in Kyle Nelson who does not go to a decision very often.

Cristian had picked up 14 wins in 15 fights prior to fighting on Dana White’s Contender Series. There, in August, he finished Logan Paxton in the 2nd round by KO/TKO. This was a nice bounce back after he lost his initial fight in DWCS back in August of last year. In his career, he has gone to decision just 4 times in 17 fights. This weekend, he gets an opponent who has a very similar mindset in finishing fights before a decision.

Kyle Nelson is 4-2 over his last 6 fights and would like nothing more than to stop Cristian in his UFC debut. That will be easier said than done, as he finds himself a very large underdog. While he has had success lately, the 2 losses he picked up both came the same way. He was KO/TKO’d by both Terrance McKinney and Steve Garcia. Cristian does not have the same experience as those 2 fighters, but he certainly possesses the same type of stopping power as they do. Nelson might be wise to avoid the heavy shots, but his style has also been one that leads to fights finishing prior to the decision.
