Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season wraps up with an intriguing interconference showdown as the Houston Texans head to Lumen Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks under the bright lights of Monday Night Football. Both teams enter this matchup with momentum, but for different reasons.
The Texans, coming off a much-needed bye week, are looking to extend their turnaround after hammering the Baltimore Ravens 44-10 on October 5. Meanwhile, the Seahawks have found their rhythm behind new quarterback Sam Darnold, securing a gritty 20-12 road win over Jacksonville last Sunday to move to 4-2 on the year.
For Houston, this season has been a story of recovery and recalibration. After a disastrous 0-3 start, the Texans have come alive behind the arm of C.J. Stroud, who continues to show poise and accuracy in just his second NFL season. The Texans’ offense exploded for 70 combined points in their last two victories, showcasing improved efficiency and balance.
Darnold has flourished in Seattle’s system under second-year head coach Mike Macdonald, who has brought structure and stability to both sides of the ball. Darnold has looked confident in the pocket, avoiding costly mistakes that once defined his career. His connection with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett has fueled Seattle’s offense, while rookie receiver Jalen McMillan has provided a spark in the slot. The offensive line—once a weak spot—has improved significantly, giving Darnold time to operate and opening lanes for Kenneth Walker III in the run game.
Defensively, Seattle has been sharp. The unit ranks among the top in the NFC in sacks and takeaways, thanks to strong play from Uchenna Nwosu, Boye Mafe, and linebacker Bobby Wagner, who continues to lead with veteran savvy. The secondary, featuring Tariq Woolen and rookie standout Devon Witherspoon, has been equally impressive, clamping down on opposing wideouts and making life difficult for quarterbacks.

Our Houston Texans vs Seattle Seahawks Prediction
Wideouts Nico Collins and Tank Dell have become reliable targets for Stroud, while running back Dameon Pierce has found new life in the ground game. More importantly, Houston’s defense, anchored by pass rusher Will Anderson Jr. and veteran safety Jimmie Ward, has been creating pressure and forcing turnovers at key moments.
Houston’s defense should keep this game competitive early, but their biggest challenge will be containing Seattle’s balanced attack. The Texans’ secondary will need to limit big plays, something easier said than done against this receiving corps. While Stroud’s composure gives Houston a fighting chance, Seattle’s combination of offensive firepower, home-field advantage, and defensive discipline could prove too much to overcome.
Expect a close contest early before the Seahawks pull away late with a few key drives engineered by Darnold’s precision passing and Macdonald’s well-timed play calling. Our prediction for Seattle Seahawks vs. Houston Texans: Over 41.5 points.
