The Brooklyn Nets are one of two remaining teams in the NBA without a win. Things will not be easy tonight as they will host the Detroit Pistons, who were the #1 seed in the playoffs last season and are currently 4-1 this season.
The Nets are coming off a tough loss to the Celtics in their last game. It looked like they had their 1st win within their grasp as Mikel Brown missed an unneeded layup with 2 seconds left. The Celtics called a timeout, advanced the ball, and Jayson Tatum hit a turnaround jumper as time expired to hand the Nets their 4th straight loss to start the season.
The Pistons have picked up right where they left off last season. They have arguably had the toughest schedule to start the season and have performed very well. They defeated the Celtics, Heat, and Sixers to start the season. They finally lost to the Knicks on the road but bounced back with a win over the Hornets on Wednesday night. They are relying on their defense to help them to this strong start. They are 2nd in the NBA in points allowed per game at 103.4. Cade Cunningham has continued to lead the team, but Duncan Robinson has taken early strides and helped the offense the most. He is averaging 16.8 points per game, which is the highest in his career.
