The Connecticut Sun (2-6) visit the Washington Mystics (3-6) on June 8, Sunday, at the CareFirst Arena.
This is the second time that the Mystics and the Sun will face each other. In their first go-around, the Mystics won, 90-85, with Brittney Sykes scoring 27 points. Three other players scored in double digits for the Mystics, namely Kiki Iriafen, Sonia Citron, and Jade Melbourne.
However, the Mystics have been on a downward spiral recently. They've lost their last three games, including two defeats at the hands of the New York Liberty. It's a good thing that Sykes is showing up for them every night, although her shooting percentages have to be better.
Meanwhile, the Sun have won two of their last three games. It's quite the relief after starting the season with five straight losses. Their last win against the Atlanta Dream, a perennial contender, is a morale-booster.
Still, the work is cut out in front of the Sun. They have the worst offensive rating in the league (93.9) and the second-worst defensive rating (113.3). Marina Mabrey and Tina Charles need more help from their supporting cast.
