One of two games taking place in France's Ligue 1 on Friday sees PSG and Lille clash in Paris, where the hosts will be hoping to return to the top of the table, even if it's only for a short while. In many recent seasons, the Parisians have held a helathy lead at the summit at this stage of the campaign, but this time around, it's a little different. Right now, Lens top Ligue 1, sitting one point in front of Luis Enrique's men, who will also be looking to get over the disappointment of being dumped out of the Coupe De France by Paris FC earlier in the week.
The visitors also exited the cup, losing at home to Lyon. That result followed a disappointing home defeat to Rennes in Ligue 1, so this is very much a game between two teams looking to improve on recent efforts. Going to Parc des Princes is never easy, but the travellers may be buoyed by the fact that they held their hosts to a tie earlier in the season. They couldn't do it again, could they?

PSG - Lille: Form Analysis
PSG is far from being as dominant as usual at the moment. While it took a penalty shootout to win the Intercontinental Cup against Flamengo on December 17, it was the same story when it came to defeating OM in the Champions Trophy on January 8. The club from the French capital has just been knocked out of the French Cup in the round of 32 by Paris FC (0-1). Facing an Obed Nkambadio at the top of his game, they were never able to find a solution.
The team coached by Luis Enrique wants to take advantage of Ligue 1 to get back to winning ways. They are still on a three-game winning streak in the league and can temporarily take the lead in the standings before RC Lens' game the next day.
PSG needs to regain confidence before the return of the Champions League.
Like their next opponent, Lille are going through a difficult period. Currently 20th in the Europa League group stage, the club have lost three of their last four European matches. To make matters worse, they have just been knocked out of the French Cup after losing to Lyon (1-2).
After a series of four consecutive wins in Ligue 1, Les Dogues are also coming off a league defeat against Stade Rennais (0-2). They are still in fourth place in the standings, but no longer have much of a lead over their closest rivals. This does not bode well for Bruno Génésio's men as they travel to the Parc des Princes.

PSG & Lille Squad Analysis
PSG still doesn't have its full squad available. Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye are still competing with their national teams in the Africa Cup of Nations, while Matveï Safonov and Quentin Ndjantou are injured. Lee Kang-in, who has missed the last four games, remains uncertain. Far from being unanimously acclaimed despite his fine performance in the Trophée des Champions, Lucas Chevalier knows he is the center of attention. The Parisian goalkeeper will be looking to shine against his former club.
He can count on a quality defense, with Marquinhos and Willian Pacho. Luis Enrique is likely to rely on Vitinha and Joao Neves in midfield once again. Up front, Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Ousmane Dembélé will try to make an impact, unless Gonçalo Ramos continues to shine in his role as supersub.
Lucas Chevalier will want to shine in goal for PSG against his former team.
As for Lille, Ousmane Touré is unlikely to return from injury anytime soon. He won't be the only one missing, as Hamza Igamane is still competing in the Africa Cup of Nations. Benjamin André is also uncertain to play in this match. Aïssa Mandi should be back after being eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Berke Özer knows he will have a lot of work to do in goal for Les Dogues. He will have to be at his very best to keep a clean sheet. Bruno Génésio can also count on a quality attacking line-up to unsettle the Parisians. Hákon Arnar Haraldsson has been decisive in three of Lille's last four games. Olivier Giroud, who has been silent for weeks but could well weigh on the Parisian defense, will also need to be watched closely.

Our PSG vs Lille Prediction
Now fit again, Desire Doue looks hungry for goals, and that's not likely to change here after the young forward found the back of the net against Paris FC recently. Doue has now scored in three of his last four Ligue 1 games, registering five shots on target during that time. Against a Lille team that has not been keeping many clean sheets, the French international won't be without chances and given his recent efforts, he looks a decent bet to take at least one of them.
Our PSG vs Lille Pick: Desire Doue to Score.
