Sunday night in Dallas, the Mavericks will host the 2-7 struggling Brooklyn Nets. This will be the 1st of two meetings they will have this year.
Brooklyn began their season on a 5-game losing streak. They have since gone 2-2 as they traded wins for losses to start the month of November. They are coming off a 124-121 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. Mikel Brown Jr. dropped 18 points off the bench, but that was ultimately not enough. Overall this season, the Nets have not shared the ball well and rank near the bottom of the league in assists. That has correlated to lower shooting percentages and lower overall scoring.
The Mavericks had a much better start to their season. They started 4-2 through their 1st six games. However, they have lost 2 of their 3 games to start the month. They are coming off a 112-100 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday. Cooper Flagg has continued his strong play since entering the league and leads the team in scoring, assists, and steals per game. As a team, they have been hovering around the middle of the league in most statistical categories. They are solid favorites here at home, but they will need to not take this Nets team lightly to avoid a slow start.
