The Dallas Cowboys (3-4, 1-2 Home) will try to get just their second home win of the season Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals (2-5, 2-2 Away). Fans can follow the action at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, on Fox when the game kicks off at 1 p.m. EST.
Arizona got the season started with a surprising win over the Los Angeles Chargers but has gone 1-4 since. Injuries have been an issue, along with a lack of a reliable run game (due in part to injuries). Scoring has been a challenge for the Cardinals (20.3 points per game), but keeping opponents off the board has been an even bigger issue. Through Week 7, they have allowed a league-high 29.7 points per game.
However, the Dallas defense has not done much better, allowing 25.7 points per game. The Cowboys have especially struggled at stopping the run (145.7 yards per game allowed). Last week was one of their better performances, but the Eagles still gained 121 yards on the ground. Dallas made up for it by running for over 200 yards, and Dak Prescott threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns in a dominant 38-21 win over their division rival.

The hard part about picking this game is you can’t trust the Dallas Cowboys. If the good version of the team shows up, they should dominate this game—much like how they should have dominated Tampa Bay when the Bucs were forced to start an undrafted rookie at quarterback (but didn’t). But while the Dallas defense may struggle, we can probably count on the Cardinals defense to have a hard time with the Cowboys offense. I expect the Cowboys to win and cover. But since we can’t trust how well Dallas will play, bank on both defenses continuing to disappoint and take the OVER.
