The main event at UFC Fight Night this weekend will be an epic featherweight battle. The legend that is Alexander Volkanovski will be defending his title against one of the most impressive men in the division. Movsar Evloev will put his perfect record on the line in order to potentially become the new featherweight champion.
Volk has seemingly made it through the toughest part of his storied career. He was 25-1 and champion of the world when he faced Islam for the 1st time. There, he lost in his attempt to become a double champion. He then came back and finished Yair Rodriguez but then dropped his next two to Islam and Ilia Topuria. However, after those tough bouts, he bounced back and defeated Diego Lopes in back-to-back fights.
Movsar has been nothing short of impressive since he joined the professional ranks. He has a perfect 20-0 record and has grinded his way to decision victories in all 10 of his UFC fights. He is coming off his 1st five-round bout in the UFC, where he won by majority decision over Lerone Murphy. Murphy became the 4th straight ranked victim to Movsar, and now he will get the opportunity that he has been building towards since entering the UFC. But it will come against a living legend and will be a step up from all 4 of those previously ranked opponents.
