Week 17 MNF Best Bets for Rams vs Falcons
by Tyler Doty | by Tyler Doty
With two weeks to go in the season, the Los Angeles Rams still have plenty to play for. The Rams are coming off a narrow loss to Seattle, which put them behind the eight-ball as far as winning the NFC West. San Francisco then ended any hope of Los Angeles winning the division by beating the Bears on Sunday.
Before breaking down the playoff implications, check out our LA Rams vs Atlanta Falcons pick.
But the Rams still want to get a high seed if they can. Snagging the No. 5 seed would put the Rams in line to host a game if an upset occurs. The Rams are well aware that the Seahawks and 49ers are both capable of beating each other, and if upsets occur, the Rams want to get their NFC West rival at home if possible. The only way that happens is if they can beat both the Falcons and Cardinals to end the season.
Atlanta has played better with Kirk Cousins, who is squeezing out the last bits of his career. This wasn’t there a year ago; Cousins has used the time away while Michael Penix took over to recover and prepare himself. With Penix hurt, Cousins has thrown the ball well in relief. The Falcons have nothing to play for, but they shouldn’t go down without a fight here. Atlanta seems to care about setting itself up for 2026, which makes this intriguing.
Here’s what we like for this game.
Kobie Turner Sack Anytime (+136, FanDuel)
Cousins might be throwing the ball better, but he is still the immobile 37-year-old he was at the start of the season. Last year showed how little he had left at 36, and the Rams aren’t going to risk giving him time to throw. Sean McVay loves to get aggressive on defense, and this is the exact matchup that calls for aggression. Cousins is still intelligent enough to pick teams apart who give him time; the Rams will not make that mistake.
Turner makes the most sense for a value sack play. The Rams’ defensive end has gotten to the quarterback seven times, and he’ll have an opportunity to get to Cousins on every play, blitz or not. All he needs is one, and with plus money available, there’s a high chance he gets it.
Drake London, Over 65.5 Rushing Yards (-114, FanDuel)
London is back on the field this week after losing a month to a knee injury, and the Falcons will look to target him a fair amount. Atlanta eased him back into action last week against Arizona, giving him three catches for 27 yards. The Falcons want to make sure London is good to go for next year, and the Rams provide a much stiffer test than the Saints will in Week 18.
Expect Cousins to target London a fair amount as the Falcons let their receiver show he can make plays. What London does in this game will determine how Atlanta handles him in the offseason.
Matthew Stafford, Over 268.5 Passing Yards (-114, FanDuel)
Stafford is having an MVP-level season. He came back from London a different quarterback, as he has hit this number in six of eight games since the Rams’ win over Jacksonville across the pond. The only time he didn’t come close came against the Seahawks’ fierce defense.
Atlanta does not have that. As long as the Rams don’t get so far ahead that they stop throwing the football, Stafford should move the ball early and often on the Falcons. Expect a strong night from the Rams’ pass attack.
