This is the second time that both teams will face each other, with the Pistons escaping with a 137-135 victory in their first go-around with the Wizards. Cade Cunningham was magnificent in that win, producing a massive triple-double of 46 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists.
The Pistons have been on a roll as of late, winning five of their last six games, including their last three.
Recently, they forged an inspiring 124-121 victory over Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. The Pistons actually led by as many as 20 points during the game, but Denver mounted a strong comeback in the fourth quarter before Detroit held on for the win.
As for the Wizards, they're coming off a 132-101 loss to the New York Knicks. The Wizards struggled defensively, allowing the Knicks to outscore them 19-2 in a key stretch.
Will Riley came off the bench to topscore with 17 points for the Wizards. No Washington players reached 20 points in the loss.
The Wizards will miss the services of recently-acquired stars Trae Young and Anthony Davis, with Tre Johnson listed as out due to an ankle injury.
