The Boston Celtics (3-5) host the Washington Wizards (1-6) in an NBA 2025-26 game on Wednesday, November 5, at TD Garden.
The Celtics are trying to stop a two-game slide after a gut-punch 105-103 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday. They had the advantage in that game, at least on paper, but a Jusuf Nurkić putback with 0.6 seconds left stole it for the Jazz.
Despite the loss, Jaylen Brown again showed out with his game-high 36 points. However, he did struggle mightily from the three-point line (0-9 3PT), as did the whole Celtics squad (11-51 3PT). Payton Pritchard and Anfernee Simons contributed 18 and 15 markers, respectively, in the loss.
As for the Wizards, they’ve dropped five straight, most recently a 119-102 defeat to the New York Knicks. They built an early 8-point lead after the opening period, but Karl-Anthony Towns and the Knicks amped up their offense in the next two quarters.
Alex Sarr topscored for the Wizards with 19, while also stuffing the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks. Corey Kispert, Bilal Coulibaly, and Kyshawn George all added 15 points apiece.
Jayson Tatum remains sidelined for the Celtics, while the Wizards will miss the services of Khris Middleton.
