Washington Commanders vs Philadelphia Eagles Prediction & Picks - NFL

The Philadelphia Eagles (11-5) made an interesting choice during the week and announced that Jalen Hurts would be resting this week, and Tanner McKee will get the start. The Eagles still have a shot at getting the 2 seed in the NFC, but this move makes it seem as though they do not desire to get that seed. They will be facing divisional foes, the Washington Commanders (4-12), who they just defeated a couple of weeks ago. The game ended with a bit of a brawl, which may be playing into Coach Sirianni’s decision to keep his star QB out of this one.

The Eagles are coming off a 13-12 win over the Buffalo Bills last week. After leading 13-0 at the half, they almost gave the game away. Jalen Hurts did not complete a pass in the 2nd half, and the offense barely moved the ball. Buffalo came back and scored with just 4 seconds remaining and decided to go two and win. Luckily for the Eagles, Josh Allen missed an open receiver in the back of the endzone. The defense has continued its strong play and has been the reason this Eagles team has been successful this season.

Washington followed up their loss to this Eagles team with another loss last week to Dallas, 30-23. In the loss, the Commanders allowed almost 500 yards of total offense to the Cowboys. On offense, Jacory Croskey-Merritt led the way. He had his best game of the season and finished with 105 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 11 carries. He has now scored 4 touchdowns over his last 3 games and will likely play a big part again this week against the Eagles.

Tanner McKee will get his shot as a starter here against a Washington team that is likely still angry about how the game finished two weeks ago. If he can have a strong showing, the Philadelphia sports media and fanbase will likely be calling for him to start over Hurts.
