It's now time for the round of 32 at the Australian Open! And in this match, the local crowd is in for a treat, as two top 20 players will battle it out for a place in the round of 16: Canada's Victoria Mboko and Denmark's Clara Tauson!

With five ITF titles to her name, as well as victories in Montreal and Hong Kong last season, all on hard courts, Victoria Mboko seems to be on the rise. The 19-year-old has climbed more than 300 places in the rankings and entered the top 20 for the first time last year. She seems to be continuing this momentum into the new year, having just reached the final of the Adelaide tournament after notably eliminating defending champion Madison Keys.

Clara Tauson, on the other hand, has had a less successful start to 2026. Last year, she won the title in Auckland in January, but this month she suffered two consecutive defeats, losing in the first round in Brisbane and again in Adelaide. However, she made quick work of Dalma Galfi in the first round and didn't let up against Polina Kudermetova in a three-set match.
