Team USA will duke it out with Team Venezuela for the coveted World Baseball Classic title on Tuesday in Miami.
Current Form:
Team USA sealed its spot in the championship match of the World Baseball Classic after taming the most offensively explosive team in the tournament, the Dominican Republic, 2-1, in the semifinal match. The Americans leaned on their exceptional fielding and impeccable pitching to keep Team Dominicana’s big hitters (Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerero, Manny Machado, and so on) in check for 9 innings. Paul Skenes allowed one run and six hits over 4.1 innings, while Mason Miller clinched his second save of the tournament by securing the final three outs of the match.
Team Venezuela reached the final of the World Baseball Classic for the first time after silencing the second-best scoring team in the tournament, Italy, in another low-scoring contest, 2-1. After letting the Italian take an early 2-0 lead, the Venezuelan began to turn things around after Eugenio Suarez put his team on the board with a solid homer in the fourth innings. After Keider Montero exited in the second inning, Venezuela sent six more pitchers to the mound and each one of them deserved credit for holding the Italians from scoring another run. Finally, in the 7th inning, Ronald Acuna Jr. tied things up with an RBI single while Meikel Garcia and Luis Arraez put Venezuela in front by driving two more runs.

United States & Venezuela Squad Analysis
Team USA has tapped Nolan McClean to start in Tuesday’s final. McClean, who plays for the New York Mets, will be looking to bounce back after allowing three runs on two hits across three innings in a 6-8 loss to Italy in the group stages. Of course, the Americans will continue to be a big threat at the plate, where anyone from their star-studded batting lineup can explode and change the complexion of the match.
Team Venezuela will be sending Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound.
Rodriguez pitched 2.2 innings in a loss to Team Dominican Republic in the round-robin stage, allowing three hits and three runs with five strikeouts. The Venezuelans will also count on their MVP Ronald Acuna Jr., to once again provide timely hits and terrific fielding defense for the Venezuelans, who are +225 underdogs in this contest.

Our United States vs Venezuela Prediction
Fearless Forecast: Team USA wins their second World Baseball Classic with a 4-2 win over Team Venezuela
It will be another low-scoring, high-drama encounter in the final of the World Baseball Classic. After stunning Japan and Italy in back-to-back elimination games, Venezuela looks poised to cap its fairy tale run with a title in Miami. However, Team USA has steadily put things together at the right time, transforming into a team that grinds out wins with pitching and excellent defense.
Venezuela is a team that consists of many players with postseason experience in the MLB. They are used to playing in high-stakes matches, so dealing with the pressure in Tuesday’s final won’t be anything new to them. On the other hand, Team USA features players who are not just role players but stars on their own respective teams. Each of these players carries immense pressure to perform at the highest level. I feel Team USA’s biggest strength in this tournament is its players’ ability to step up when the push comes to shove. The talent is undeniable, but the hunger to win will be the one that pushes them to the top.
Our betting prediction for Team USA vs. Team Venezuela: Team USA will win
United States vs Venezuela - Other Interesting Picks
Total Under 8.5 Runs
As I mentioned, this championship is shaping up to be another defensive-oriented ballgame, where the team that plays terrific pitching and fielding wins the whole thing. Both Venezuela and the USA own a similar 3.00 ERA through six games, but none of these numbers matter now because it will be a whole new ballgame on Tuesday.
Expect the aces from both teams, Paul Skenes and Ranger Suarez, to pitch again on Tuesday as they will try to empty their respective bullpens just to secure an edge in this winner-takes-all contest.
Our betting prediction for Team USA vs. Team Venezuela: Total Under 8.5 Runs
Team USA -1.5 Runs
Team USA will win this one by at least two runs. The Americans have built a roster that can deal damage on both sides of the ball. Although scoring a blowout win over the Venezuelans is a possibility, allowing the Americans to rip the game apart is the last thing Venezuela would do. In the end, Team USA will come through with the crucial hits in the clutch to hack out a convincing win on Tuesday.
Our betting prediction for Team USA vs. Team Venezuela: Team USA -1.5 Runs
