Valencia and Real Betis clash in LaLiga on Sunday. Valencia are hoping to halt a dreadful run of form that has seen them slip into the relegation zone. Los Che sit 18th in the table after 11 matches, with just two wins all season. Their early campaign showed brief promise – in late August Valencia notched a 3–0 home victory over Getafe and a 2–0 win against Athletic Club – but since mid-September it has been a downward spiral. Valencia have failed to win any of their last five league games. Their defense, while organized at times (as seen in the scoreless draw with Alavés), has been prone to collapse against stronger attacks (conceding six goals to Barcelona in one match and four to Real Madrid). With morale low, Valencia are desperate to find a spark to turn their season around.
Real Betis arrive in starkly different shape – the Seville-based side are flying high in 5th place and full of confidence. Betis have lost only two of their first eleven matches and have collected five wins and four draws. They come into this fixture on the back of a convincing 3–0 home victory over Mallorca, a win that extended an unbeaten streak. In October, Betis ground out draws against tough opponents like Real Sociedad and also grabbed a rivalry win in the Seville derby versus Sevilla.
They have been especially potent in attack lately: over their last three league games, Betis have scored a total of six goals. This offensive uptick includes a thrilling 3–2 win against Villarreal and the three-goal performance versus Mallorca. Betis's defense has also tightened, with two clean sheets in their last three outings. Overall, Manuel Pellegrini's men are playing balanced, confident football and find themselves in the hunt for European positions.

Our Valencia vs Betis Prediction
Valencia will look to veteran players and a home crowd at Mestalla to energize them. One of the few bright spots has been forward Hugo Duro, who has scored a couple of Valencia's limited goals this season (including a strike in the win over Getafe). Duro's work rate and knack for getting into the box will be crucial for a team struggling to finish chances. In midfield, captain José Gayà – normally a left-back by trade – has tried to lead by example, and his overlapping runs and crossing ability are key to Valencia generating offense.
Real Betis, conversely, have multiple players in excellent form. Brazilian winger Antony (Matheus dos Santos) has been electrifying since joining – he scored twice in Betis's last match, a brace against Mallorca, and now has four league goals. Antony's pace and dribbling on the right flank will be a constant threat to Valencia's back line.
Given the form book, Real Betis enter as clear favorites despite being away from home. Valencia may put up a fight at Mestalla – perhaps looking to frustrate Betis and nick a goal via set-piece or counter – but Betis simply have more confidence and firepower right now. Unless Valencia find an unexpected surge of inspiration, Betis should be able to control midfield and create enough chances to secure the result. Our prediction for Valencia vs Real Betis is: Over 2.5 goals.
