Sorana Cirstea and Maya Joint will do business for the second time as professionals in the Canadian city of Toronto on Wednesday, when the Aussie will be looking to upset a higher-ranked player who will be making her first apperance on the North American hard-court swing. We haven't seen Cirstea since she exited Wimbledon just over a month ago. In contrast, Joint has been very busy, already playing in three hard-court events.
All things considered, Sorana Cirstea is a good enough player to be considered the favorite ahead of a hard-court match against Maya Joint. However, with the Romanian having not played in a while, she probably shouldn't be quite as strong in the market. After all, Maya Joint has the advantage of already having had a chance to get used to the conditions in Toronto, where she's playing well, defeating a higher-ranked player during the first round.
