The Las Vegas Aces visit the Phoenix Mercury for Game 3 of the 2025 WNBA Finals on Wednesday, October 8, at the Mortgage Matchup Center.
The Aces hold a commanding 2-0 advantage against the Mercury. Behind their two superstars, the Aces hacked out a 91-78 victory in Game 2. They actually trailed after the opening period, but then went on a 22-10 run in the second quarter and never looked back.
Jackie Young led all scorers with a 32-point performance that was built on an efficient 60% shooting from the field. Reigning MVP A'ja Wilson hauled in a double-double of 28 points and 14 rebounds. Las Vegas almost made half of their field goal attempts (49.3%), a testament to their strong offense.
On the other end, Kahleah Cooper topscored for the Mercury with her 23 markers, while Satou Sabally filled up with 22 points and 9 boards. However, Sabally struggled mightily, making just seven of her 19 attempts, including a 2-of-9 clip from the three-point line.
The Aces can sweep their way to lifting the championship trophy, but they have to do it on the road. The Mercury aren't exactly great on their home arena (15-7 during the regular season), so there's a good chance that the Aces can do it.
