After a poor start, following two managers before Claudio Ranieri's arrival, Roma still have a chance to fight for a spot in next season's Champions League with two games remaining. To do so, they'll need to win their next match against Milan at the Stadio Olimpico, win the final match against Torino, and wait to see what happens with Lazio and Juventus, both with one point more than Roma after 36 matches.

Roma can't afford to be lacking confidence after the 2-1 defeat to Atalanta for this vitally important game against Milan. Before that, in Serie A, they had a 14-match unbeaten run in the Italian league, but their poor recent record against Milan suggests that a defeat is also possible.

If we're talking disappointment, Milan will bring an even bigger one to Rome after losing the final against Bologna. They had just beaten Bologna at San Siro in the last match of Serie A but were unable to breach the rock-solid defense in the Coppa Italia final, and they will be playing in that same stadium four days after losing the final.
