Late on Tuesday evening, things continue at the ATP event in Acapulco, Mexico, where there's an interesting clash between Rinky Hijikata and Mattia Bellucci. This is very much a match between two closely ranked opponents, though there may be a little more between the pair (in the favor of the Italian) than the rankings suggest. Rinky Hijikata has only really beaten lower-ranked players in 2026, while he arrives here off the back of a displeasing straight-set defeat last time out.
Bellucci also lost in straight sets last time out, but he did so to a better player, while he can also be forgiven for losing to Brandon Nakashima, who is ranked much higher than Hijikata. Clearly, this is a more realistic task for Bellucci, who is no stranger at all to beating lower-ranked opponents, so do not be surprised if he thrives here.

Our Rinky Hijikata vs Mattia Bellucci Prediction
This could quite easily be a tight match, as the rankings would suggest, though for my money, Mattia Bellucci isn't quite getting the respect that he deserves, so much so that he goes down as a value bet at odds of +100. At the time of writing, Hijikata is the -125 favorite, but I'd have things the other way round, and here's why:
For starters, when the pair last met on a hard court, Bellucci won in straight sets. It is also the Italian who has achieved more recently. He had tough matches against both Nakashima and Kecmanovic, and I don't think the market is considering that enough. This is certainly less demanding. Moreover, Hijikata lost to a lower-ranked player last time out, which is not somethingt that Bellucci has done since June of last year. That fact is too important to ignore.
