On Tuesday, at the Miami Open, it's America vs Portugal as Reilly Opelka and Nuno Borges go up against each other. Meeting for the first time at professional level, these two will both be looking to bounce back after tasting defeat last time out. Opelka exited the Indian Wells event at the hands of Ben Shelton, though the big-hitter didn't go down without a fight, losing in three sets. In contrast, Nuno Borges exited the event in Phoenix courtesy of a straight-set defeat to Marcos Giron. Such a performance does not point towards success here.
Reilly Opelka should feel quite confident ahead of this match. After all, he's played well in Miami in recent years, at least during the early part of the tournament, going beyond the first round in each of his last four tournament appearances. Nuno Borges has played at the Miami Open three times before, exiting at the first-round stage on each occasion.

Our Reilly Opelka vs Nuno Borges Prediction
I'm certainly not saying that Reilly Opelka would beat Nuno Borges every time. In fact, if these two players played a bunch of matches on difference surfaces, in different parts of the world, we'd likely get a bunch of different outcomes. However, in Miami, where Opelka is quite strong and where Borges has struggled, it's easy for me to conclude that the American competitor should be a stronger favorite than he is at the time of writing.
Quite simply, as a player who has gone beyond the first round in each of his last four appearances at the Miami Open, against a player who is yet to go beyond the first round, Opelka should be -150, at least. Therefore, he's well worth of support at odds of -125.
