Meeting for the first time as professionals, on Sunday, two Spaniards will clash in the French capital, where up-and-comer Rafael Jodar takes on Pablo Carreno-Busta, who has played beyond his current ranked of 89th to reach the fourth round at Roland Garros for the first time since 2021. The more experienced of the two players, Carreno-Busta has twice reached the quarters of the French Open, so he knows what he's doing.
In contrast, this is unfamiliar territory for Jodar, who is relying on his talent rather than previous tournament experience. Against a very decent player in Alex Michelsen, the youngster battled hard to come through in five sets last time out. He should be feeling confident after that effort, but also fatigued, so don't be too surprised if he once again has to do it the hard way, prompting a bet on 'Over 3.5 Sets'.

Our Rafael Jodar vs Pablo Carreño-Busta Prediction
Rafael Jodar, given his current trajectory, is expected to get the job done here, and he may well do that, but the youngster hasn't found it overly easy to dominate in five-set matches, needing all five sets to come through against Alex Michelsen last time out. Prior to that, he needed four sets against James Duckworth, so we should not be surprised if this match exceeds the minimum numnber of sets.
Given what we've seen from Carreno-Busta at this tournament too, a match containing at least four sets looks a little more likely than early odds of -137 would have us believe.
Our Rafael Jodar vs Pablo Carreno-Busta Pick: Over 3.5 Sets.
