Meanwhile, number 6 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas made his tournament debut against Australian Jordan Thompson on Tuesday. And the Greek needed a little time to get back into the swing of things on these clay courts, as he came back from losing the first set to seal a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory. But the defending champion himself should have plenty more to come in better shape for this second duel and reach the quarter-finals in Monaco quickly once again.
