Djokovic is three wins away from adding another title to his trophy haul. The 24-time Grand Slam champion reached the quarterfinals of the ATP 250 event in Athens after securing his first win over Alejandro Tabilo 7-6, 6-1 in three matches. Djokovic bombarded his Chilean foe with 14 aces and 34 points behind the first serves to win all 10 of his service games. He also scored two breakpoint conversions in the second to put away Tabilo for good. The result served as a sweet revenge for Djokovic, who lost his first two encounters against Tabilo in back-to-back years at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Borges barged into the quarterfinal round with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win over Eliot Spizzirri of the United States. The Portuguese held 15 of his 16 serves by capturing 50 points behind the first serves and scoring 8 aces. Borges also scored two breakpoint conversions, including a key break that set him up for a 3-1 lead in the third set.
