Notts Forest and Brentford meet at the City Ground on Sunday, in one of the tightest looking contests of the Premier League weekend. Forest enjoyed a superb 2024/2025 campaign, finishing 7th in the league to qualify for Europe for the first time in 30 years. However, manager Nuno Espirito Santos has recently expressed frustration at Forest's lack of Summer transfer activity, and is predicting that it will be a tough campaign for his side.
Brentford have also had a difficult Summer, with star striker Bryan Mbeumo and goalkeeper Mark Flekken departing for Manchester United and Bayer Leverkusen, respectively, plus manager Thomas Frank leaving the club in order to join Tottenham. Keeper Caoimhin Kelleher has arrived from Liverrpol, whilst veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson has joined on a free transfer, but new Bees boss Keith Andrews is facing a huge task in his first ever managerial role.

Forest had a major stumble at the back end of last season, and we think that will continue into the new campaign. The Summer departure of Anthony Elanga is a huge blow that leaves Forest looking a little light in attack. Brentford also look short of attacking quality, but despite that, we are expecting this to be an entertaining contest. Both teams can be vulnerable in defence, so we are predicting plenty of goals and a high scoring draw. Our prediction for Notts Forest vs Brentford is: Draw and over 2.5 goals.
