One of the biggest games of the Serie A season so far takes place on Saturday evening, as reigning league champions Napoli take on Inter Milan at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Both sides have picked up 15 points from their opening seven matches of the season and are just a point behind leaders AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table. However, with Milan facing a seemingly straightforwrd game against bottom side Pisa on Friday, both Inter and Napoli will be desperate to not lose any more ground in what looks like being a very tight title race.
Remarkably, the last three competitive games between Napoli and Inter have all finished in 1-1 draws, a sequence that includes a thrilling contest towards the end of last season, in which a late Philip Billing strike secured a vital point for Napoli that maintained their advantage over Inter in the title race.

Napoli - Inter Milan: Form Analysis
It has been a terrible week for the Serie A champions, as a limp 1-0 league loss in Torino on Sunday was followed by a humiliating 6-2 thrashing by PSV in the Champions League, their second defeat in three games so far in the competition Those two losses have put a bit of pressure on Napoli boss Antonio Conte, especially as his side's overall displays this season have been below the extremely high standards of the last campaign.
Inter on fire
Inter come into Saturday's contest in fantastic form, having won their last seven games. Their most recent victory was a comprehensive 0-4 success at Union SG in the Champions League, a result that maintained Inter's 100% record in the competition. A rock-solid defence has been the key to success for Cristian Chivu's side. Since losing 4-3 to Juve in early September, Inter have conceded just two goals in their seven subsequent matches.

Napoli & Inter Milan Squad Analysis
Napoli are hopeful that striker Rasmus Højlundl will be fit for Saturday's game, having missed the defeat at PSV due to a minor muscle problem. The Danish striker has made a hugely encouraging start to life in Naples, and has provided a more-than-capable replacement for long term injury absentee Romelu Lukaku. The only other injury absentee for Antonio Conte's side will be midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, who is still recovering from an abductor injury that has kept him out for the last two months.
Thuram to miss out
Inter will also go into Saturday's game without a key forward, as French frontman Marcus Thuram continues to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered last week. Full back Matteo Darmian also misses out due to an ongoing calf problem, but aside from that, Christian Chivu will have a full strength squad to choose from.

Napoli have looked woefully short of their best in their last two matches, and given the fact that Inter are a vastly suerior team to both Torino and PSV, it is hard to see Conte's team getting anything from Saturday's game.
