Wrapping up the Easter weekend in Italy is a massive game between the teams currently in second and third place in Serie A. There’s only one point separating Napoli and AC Milan as they come together this Monday at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. 

I can’t ignore the odds for Youssouf Fofana to produce a shot on target in particular, being one of AC Milan’s prime players in terms of goal attempts produced when opposing the big dogs this season, as well as coming to Naples on the back of a goal last time out.

I Rossoneri will be quaking in the wake of their recent games in which they’ve dropped points, including their last away game against Lazio, thus allowing Napoli to swoop in with four wins on the bounce and sit directly beneath Milan, just waiting to nab the silver-medal position. 

Allegri’s men had a sorry journey back home when the two teams met last, in December, falling short in the Super Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 defeat. Still, despite only playing the final 20 minutes, Fofana had his eyes fixed to the goal, creating one shot on target.

In games of this type, both home and away, the Frenchman seems to flourish offensively, with six shots on target registered in eight starts. Promisingly, he’s thrived even more away from home, producing multiple goal attempts in all five matches on the road against the top seven. 

Whilst Fofana does occasionally get sidelined, when he does play he puts a good shift in, grabbing one goal and one assist in his last four matches. Likewise, almost every time he makes an appearance, he knows how to get into the best shooting positions, usually producing at least one goal attempt.
