Coco Gauff of the United States is a massive favorite at -1000 against Japanese star Moyuka Uchijima (+630) in the second round of the 2025 Wuhan Open.

Gauff picked up four wins in Beijing, including tough wins over Belinda Bencic 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 and Leylah Annie Fernandez 6-4, 4-6, 5-4, to reach the semifinal of the 2025 China Open. Unfortunately, Gauff’s form collapsed against the formidable Amanda Anisimova 1-6, 2-6 in the final four, ending her bid for a back-to-back title in this tourney.

Uchijima moved on to the second round after repeating against Xinyu Wang 6-4, 7-6 in the first round. The Japanese claimed two wins in the qualification stages to reach the main draw of the Wuhan Open, beating Alexandra Eala 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and Wang in the qualification final 6-4, 6-3. Uchijima drew the lucky loser Wang for her opening match in the main draw, and once again, she outclassed the Chinese in straight sets.
