There's a very interesting clash taking place at Wimbledon on Wednesday afternoon. Miomir Kecmanovic takes on Tallon Griekspoor, and not for the first time during the current grass-court season. The pair recently played out a thrilling three-set match in the Netherlands on grass, where there was very little between the pair, so this could be a fun watch. Griekspoor, as the higher-ranked player, is the favourite, but Kecmanovic proved that he can match his Dutch opponent last month, so don't be surprised if this is much closer than the early odds suggest.

To be honest, I just don't agree with the early prices here. While I completely agree that Griekspoor is the (marginally) better player, I don't agree that he should be such a strong favourite. As the higher-ranked player, he's probably ever so slightly better suited to closing out five-set matches, but he's far from a top player, so I really don't think Kecmanovic is a big underdog here. For my money, the Serbian deserves a little more respect. After all, he's twice beaten higher-ranked players on grass in recent weeks. What's more, despite winning in the Netherlands when the pair met last month, Griekspoor far from outplayed his tournament, with all three sets being decided by tie breaks, and hard-fought ones at that. That evidence really does tell me that Kecmanovic has a decent chance of getting the win here, a bigger chance in fact that the early odds suggest. Therefore, betting on the Serb to advance at the current odds goes down as a value move. Our Prediction: Miomir Kecmanovic to Win.
