The Dodgers will go for the series sweep of the Miami Marlins today in Game Three of a three-game series at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA. First pitch for this game is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. EST, and fans can follow the action on the MLB Network.
Miami gave the Dodgers a good fight in the first game of the series, only to lose 7-6 in the end. But they were all out of a fight in Game Two yesterday. The Marlins got on the board first with a run in the top of the first, but then the Dodgers responded with three in the bottom half of the inning and never looked back. LA tacked on another in the second and three in the third before chasing Miami’s starting pitcher, Sandy Alcantara, after just 2 2/3 innings. The Marlins scored again in the seventh inning, but with four more in the sixth for the Braves, the game was already well out of hand. Atlanta tacked on another in the seventh and three in the eighth to make the final score 15-2.
The Marlins will give the ball to Cal Quantrill, who is 2-2 on the season (five starts) with a 7.83 ERA and 1.78 WHIP. He went 5 2/3 innings in his last start, vs. Seattle, making it his longest outing of the season. Tony Gonsolin will get the start for the Dodgers. It will be his first of the season. He last pitched in 2023, having missed last year because of Tommy John surgery.

Not knowing for sure what we’ll get out of Gonsolin throws an unknown into the equation. But with how poorly the Marlins are playing, it may not matter. Quantrill has given up 14 runs across his last three starts (three, seven, and four). With the Dodgers hitting .337 over the last week, I don’t see the Marlins putting up much of a fight.
