Learner Tien of the United States will shoot for his second straight final appearance at the Next Gen Finals against fellow American Nishesh Basavareddy on Saturday in Jeddah.

Tien is a massive -330 favorite against Basavareddy, who is competing in his second Next Gen Finals.

Tien rebounded from his shocking Day 1 loss to Rafael Jodar with two clinical victories over Martin Landaluce 1–4, 4–1, 4–3(7–4), 4–3(7–2) and Nicolai Budkov Kjaer 3–4(2–7), 4–1, 4–2, 4–2. Tien, the highest-ranked player in the competition at the world’s No.28, showed he is in a different class in his last two matches, especially against Kjaer, whom he absolutely crushed in the final three sets of their group stage affair on Friday.

Basavareddy qualified for the semifinal of the 2025 Next Gen Finals after topping Justin Engel 4–3(7–3), 4–2, 4–3(7–5). After losing to Alexander Blockx 3–4(2–7), 3–4(8–10), 1–4 on Day 1, Basavareddy put on a master class against Engel, holding all his serves and winning 23 return points.
