The Memphis Grizzlies (45-32) visit the Detroit Pistons (42-34) on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Little Caesars Arena.
In their first matchup last November 27, 2024, the Grizzlies handily defeated the Pistons, 131-111. The Pistons did sustain a 20-point loss, but things have changed for them since then. Fresh off a 117-105 win over the Toronto Raptors, the Pistons have now clinched the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
However, Pistons All-Star Cade Cunningham is still listed as questionable against the Grizzlies. He has missed the last six games due to a calf injury. The Pistons have lost two of their last three games, with them missing Cunningham's all-around production of 25.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 9.2 assists.
As they're already through to the playoffs, the Pistons won't rush Cunningham back if he's not 100% ready. We might not see Cunningham in the Grizzlies game, especially since it's the second leg of a back-to-back schedule.
Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are coming off a thrilling 110-108 win over the Miami Heat, a game in which we saw Ja Morant hit a game-winning buzzerbeater. That much-needed victory snapped the Grizzlies' four-game losing streak. They need all the wins they could get, as they don't want to slide down to the Play-In positions in the West.
