As in last season, he finds himself in the second round of the US Open, but has a date with one of the big favorites for the title: a certain Carlos Alcaraz.
Winner of the American Grand Slam in 2022, Carlos Alcaraz has a score to settle. Last year, he was knocked out in the second round, losing to Botic van de Zandschulp. The number 2 seed in this tournament is determined to go much further this season, having reached the finals of the last two Grand Slam tournaments, including a victory at the French Open. Winner of the Cincinnati Masters 1000 a few days ago, the 22-year-old talent avoided the Reilly Opelka trap in his US Open debut. He won in three sets in just over two hours of play (6-4, 7-5, 6-4).
