As the clay-court action starts to get serious, on Tuesday, I'm very interested in the match due to take place at the WTA event in Bogota between Marie Bouzkova and Ana Sofia Sanchez. Clearly, this is a huge opportunity for the Czech player, who is ranked miles above her opponent, to make a winning start to life at a tournament where she's previously enjoyed herself. Bouzkova reached the final of this event when playing it for the first time in 2024, before reaching the quarter finals last year, so she knows how to thrive under these conditions. 

Lower-ranked player Sanchez, who is the current world number 231, will face a player ranked over 200 places ahead of her. That alone is probably enough to leave the Mexican feeling rather nervous, so much so that she's unlikely to put up much of a fight here. Having only just beaten a much lesser player in three sets during her final qualifying match, she's expected to struggle against a far superior opponent.
