To be honest, I will be hugely surprised if either of these players makes it beyond the second round in the Japanese capital this week. Let's face it, neither Navone, nor Darderi comes alive on this surface, with both typically preferring a clay court. It's hard to tell who is the worse hard-court player, though, so I am a little surprised to see Darderi priced the way that he is. If the Italian was the narrowest of favorites, that might be fair, but to be honest, Navone probably deserves a little more respect, if not for the fact that he won on this surface more recently than Darderi, then for the fact that he's won two of the most recent three renewals of this match.
