Next Saturday night’s NHL schedule will close its activities with a couple of games to be played at 09:00 pm CST, including a Pacific divisional game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Edmonton Oilers. This game could be considered the main event because both teams need a victory that could sustain their expectations of clinching a playoff spot by the end of the regular season.

On the one hand, the Edmonton Oilers were made favorites to win according to the bookies’ odds; however, their current two-game winning streak was built over two of the Western Conference’s weakest defenses, like the Nashville Predators and the Winnipeg Jets. With this in mind, the Oilers should try to take advantage of the offensive power of players like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, who have scored more than 20 goals each this season.

On the other hand, the Los Angeles Kings have recently had many defensive issues when playing on the road, so the chances of defeating the Oilers in Canadian territory are very low. Furthermore, it cannot be ignored that the Kings haven’t scored more than two goals in road games since their 4-2 victory over the Utah Mammoth on December 8th.
