Latvia is fresh off a rousing 78-62 victory over Portugal. It was nip-and-tuck early in the opening period, but a dominant 27-7 run in the second quarter carried the hosts to the win.
NBA veteran big man Kristaps Porzingis led the game in scoring with 21 points, including five three-pointers. He also added nine rebounds and three assists to his tally. Other Latvians who scored in double digits were Rolands Smits (15), Davis Bertans (14), and Dairis Bertans (11).
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic is coming off an 82-60 loss to Serbia. It was a disappointing game that saw them score only five points in the first quarter. By going winless in four games, they are now eliminated from the tournament.
Only one Czech Republic player scored in double digits against Serbia, with Jaromir Bohacik putting up 12 points. They still have one more chance to tally a win, but it will be a tough task going up against the hosts of this year's EuroBasket.
