FC Dallas faces its penultimate MLS regular season match with a strong chance of making the MLS play-in stage thanks to its season-best streak. FC Dallas has avoided defeat in each of its last eight matches, and the late-season schedule has been kind to them, setting them up to play the already eliminated and last-place team in the Western Conference, the LA Galaxy, twice. They already beat them at Toyota Stadium and hope to replicate the same result in Carson.
The betting sites anticipated FC Dallas to defeat the LA Galaxy 2-1 last Saturday in Texas, as the Galaxy were fatigued and dejected following their loss of the Campeones Cup trophy to Mexico's Toluca. FC Dallas started as a -178 favorite to win it, and they did so despite trailing in the 4th minute.
As expected, Croatian Petar Musa appeared for the Texan team, perhaps enjoying the best scoring streak he's ever had in his 27 years of existence. Musa tied the score, scoring his 11th goal in the last 11 matches. Ecuadorian Delgado then appeared to put FC Dallas ahead just before halftime. They then put in a fantastic defensive effort in the second half, holding the LA Galaxy to a 0.39 xG.
