The WTA action in Indian Wells continues to come thick and fast, and on Thursday, there are lots more first-round matches due to take place. One of the matches that presents a nice betting opportunity is the one between Katie Volynets and Rebecca Sramkova. Volynets is the higher-ranked player but there's not much in it, while the American competitor doesn't exactly arrive in Indian Wells having been at her best of late. She's lost each of her last two matches in straight sets, while she's regularly exited this competition at the first-round stage.
In slight contrast, Sramkova has been competing well of late, beating much higher-ranked players in Dubai, before pushing the likes of Varvara Gracheva and Yue Yuan to three sets. Off the back of such decent form, the Slovakian should fancy herself to do a little better than the early odds may suggest that she should. After all, she did emerge victorious when the pair met last season.
