Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina will collide on Friday, with the winner of their semifinal duel advancing to the championship match of the 2025 WTA Tour Finals.

Pegula secured her spot in the semifinal round of the 2025 WTA Tour Finals after besting Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-3 to finish the round-robin phase with a 2-1 record. Ranked No.5 in the world, Pegula reached the final four of this year-ending event on the WTA Tour calendar by edging Coco Gauff 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 and beating Paolini. She also took world No.1 Aryna Sabalenka to three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 3-6, on Day 3.
Rybakina entered the semifinals with her immaculate record still intact after blasting alternate Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-4, 6-4. Rybakina was supposed to play Madison Keys for her final assignment of the round robin stage, but the American decided to pull out of the match because of illness, paving the way for Alexandrova to step in for her. Rybakina also defeated Amanda Anisimova 6-3, 6-1 and Iga Swiatek 3-6, 6-1, 6-0.
