Should Belinda Bencic really be as big as +150 to win this match? In my eyes, absolutely not. Am I saying that the Swiss player should be a big favorite? Cerrtainly not, but what I am saying is that she warrants more respect than the market is giving her at the time of writing, and here's why: For starters, Bencic has a fabulous record against Jessica Pegula. Clearly, the American struggles to deal with what the world number 12 brings to the court, with Bencic winning each of the four previous meetings between these two players.
I'd also argue that is Bencic who has shown more during the early parts of this tournament, recording two convincing straight-set wins. In contrast, Pegula has needed three sets in both of her matches.
