After spending several months recovering from an injury that he received back in the spring, Carlos Alcaraz made a pleasing return to the court during the first round of the US Open, defeating Roman Safiullin in straight sets. With that victory under his belt, the Spaniard will likely be feeling upbeat ahead of this second-round match against Jaime Faria, who had to put up a serious fight to get beyond Jenson Brooksby last time out.
Having won in five sets, Faria could easily have a less-than-ideal amount left in the tank, and let's face it, being a little fatigued is not what you want ahead of a match against Carlos Alcaraz, especially now that the Spaniard is fit and well again.
