We've reached the end of another exciting and intriguing Major League Soccer season. The 2025 campaign is nearly done. On Saturday, it's MLS Cup Final, which will be played between Inter Miami and the Vancouver Whitecaps. Both teams have been excellent in 2025, esepcially offenisvely, so this really could be an explosive final, which will take place at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Given that they have the luxury of playing in front of a home crowd, the Herons will surely expect themselves to get over the line here. Javier Mascherano's men were on fire last time out, demolishing a very decent New York City FC team. Let's face it, that performance was very much the makr of a team determined to go all the way. However, if there's any team that could maybe halt Saturday's hosts, then it's probably the Whitecaps, who also delivered a dominant offensive display last time out, and we must be honest, the visitors also have star quality, with German legend Thomas Muller playing some superb soccer since arriving four months ago. A hugely interesting fixture awaits.

As mentioned above, the hosts come into this game having scored goals for fun against NYCFC in the Eastern Conference Final. Not only did they score five goals, but they made such light work of creating chances, and that's been the norm for the Herons in the postseason. Since the end of the regular campaign, Mascherano's men have scored 17 goals in five games. That's an average of 3.40 goals per game. They'll be looking to do more damage here, and I certainly wouldn't bet against it.
The Whitecaps haven't exactly been as free scoring as Saturday's hosts, but they too know how to hurt teams. Last time out, they smashed in three against a more than useful San Diego team, while since the playoffs began, the men from BC Place have scored 11 goals in four games, averaging a more than respectable 2.75 goals. Not bad at all.

Thankfully, Javier Mascherano won't have any fresh injury concerns to deal with here. Both David Ruiz and Ryan Sailor remain out, but neither of those absentees weaken the hosts, who will be at full strength, with the likes of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Jorda Alba, Sergi Busquets, Rodrigo de Paul and Tadeo Allende all expected to start.
The visitors have star quality in their line-up too, with Thomas Muller pulling the strings at the number ten. Key players Brian White and Emmanuel Sabbi are also fully fit and ready to go. Having picked up a knock earlier in the postseason, Daniel Rios is expected to miss out, though, as is Belal Halbouni.

Sure, the hosts pack a serious punch offensively, and they really should do plenty of damage here. It would be a huge surprise to all if they didn't. However, the early prices reflect this more than enough. What the early betting does not reflect accurately enough, at least as far as I'm cocnerned, is the fact that the visitors are seriously strong in the final third too.
Frankly, the Whitecaps are generously priced to notch a couple of goals at Chase Stadium, which is exactly what they did back in May. We know that the hosts can be caught out on the break, and we know how dangerous the Whitecaps can be on the counter.
