The Orlando Magic (19-16) host the Indiana Pacers (6-29) in an NBA 2025-26 game on Sunday, January 4, at the Kia Center in Orlando.
The Magic look to defend their home court and bounce back after a tough loss, while the Pacers are deep in rebuilding mode and searching for wins wherever possible.
Orlando currently holds the season head-to-head advantage, having beaten Indiana in their only matchup so far, 112-110, on December 31.
However, the Magic are also coming off a 121-114 loss to the Chicago Bulls. They raced to a 10-point lead after the first quarter, but their defense showed some weaknesses the rest of the game. Paolo Banchero produced a team-high 31 points in the loss.
As for the Pacers, they're also coming off a 123-113 defeat at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs, their 10th loss in a row. It's not surprising, considering that they have the worst offensive rating in the league (108.8).
The injury report for the Pacers also doesn't look great. Key rotational pieces Bennedict Mathurin (thumb) and Isaiah Jackson (concussion) are out, while Obi Toppin remains sidelined due to a right foot surgery. Of course, Tyrese Haliburton will also be sitting out the whole season.
